Course Overview
The Master of Physiotherapy in Paediatrics and Neonatal Sciences is a postgraduate programme designed to develop advanced knowledge, clinical reasoning, and practical competencies in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, and functional conditions.
The programme focuses on growth and development, developmental assessment, neonatal and paediatric examination, movement and posture analysis, motor development, early intervention, and individualised paediatric rehabilitation. It also addresses the assessment of pain in neonates and children, interpretation of relevant clinical investigations, and the influence of medical conditions on functional development.
Through competency-based learning, supervised clinical training, evidence-based practice, and research, students develop the ability to plan and deliver appropriate physiotherapy interventions, monitor developmental and functional outcomes, educate caregivers, and collaborate with paediatricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals.
