Course Overview
The M.Sc. Reproductive Genetics program at Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth, Hyderabad, is designed to provide advanced knowledge and skills in the genetic aspects of human reproduction. This postgraduate program focuses on understanding the genetic factors involved in fertility, pregnancy, and reproductive health, along with the latest techniques in genetic testing and counseling.
This program focuses on equipping students with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills from 1st semester itself. The curriculum covers topics such as genetic screening, chromosomal abnormalities, genetic disorders in reproduction, gene therapy, and the role of genetics in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as IVF and genetic counseling. Students will gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques such as genetic testing, DNA analysis, and embryo screening, and will learn to apply these techniques in clinical settings.
Graduates of this program emerge as ‘Skilled Reproductive Geneticists, Genetic Counselors, or Researchers’, enabling them to pursue further higher studies and do research in reproductive genetics and genetic counseling, along with plenty of job opportunities globally in fertility clinics, genetic counseling centers, IVF labs, hospitals, and research institutions.
