Exam Policy

Examination Policy of Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)

Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth (MRV) implements a structured examination policy to uphold academic integrity and ensure fair assessment across its various programs.

An overview of the key components of the MRV examination policy is as follows:

Examination Framework

  • Types of Examinations:
    • Internal Examinations: Conducted midway through the course to assess students’ understanding of the course material covered up to that point. Two internal examinations are conducted in a semester pattern, and three internal examinations for the annual pattern.
    • End Semester Examination: Held after each semester, evaluating the comprehensive knowledge gained throughout the term.
    • Annual Year-End Examination: Held after each academic year to assess the cumulative learning achieved throughout the academic period.
    • Clinical/Practical Assessment: For courses with clinical/practical components, assessments are conducted to evaluate hands-on skills and application of theoretical knowledge.
    • Open Book Examinations: Occasional Conduct of Internal Exams in the Open Book system, as per the discretion of the program co-ordinator, to enhance analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Student Assessment (as part of the Lesson Plan): Continuous evaluation based on class participation, assignments, quizzes, and other academic activities.
    • All above assessments will be taken up and documented as per NEP 2020 Guidelines and as per the respective SRA Guidelines for the applicable Programs.
  • Eligibility for University examinations
    • Students should have completed the required study period, attendance requirements, and have passed internal assessments.
    • Students must submit a no-dues certificate from the concerned Dean in order to be eligible to attend the University examinations.
    • Students should fulfill the eligibility guidelines of the apex bodies concerned.
  • Bloom’s Taxonomy Alignment: Question papers will be designed to cover multiple cognitive levels — remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating — to encourage higher-order thinking.
  • Competency-Based Evaluation: Assessment will emphasize skills and competencies rather than rote memorization. Question banks will be prepared with mapped course outcomes.
  • Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Integration: Internal and external assessments must demonstrate alignment with Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Program Outcomes (POs).
  • Skill-Based and Experiential Assessment: Wherever applicable, skill-based tests, simulations, and case-based questions will be introduced to evaluate applied knowledge.
  • Digital Integrity Measures: Use of plagiarism detection tools and online proctored systems will be mandatory for project-based and online submissions.
  • A continuous evaluation system with a 30% weightage to formative assessments (assignments, presentations, quizzes) and 70% to summative assessments will be adopted.
  • Inclusive Assessment: Provisions will be ensured for students with disabilities, including extra time and alternative formats of evaluation.
  • MRV follows a credit-based grading system in alignment with the NEP 2020 and NCrF guidelines.

Examination Conduct and Regulations

  • An Examination Committee oversees the entire examination process, including scheduling, paper setting, evaluation, and result declaration. This committee ensures the examinations are conducted with credibility, uniformity, and transparency. (https://mrvv.edu.in/examinations/)
  • MRV is proud to pioneer and make a significant technological leap by integrating IoT (Internet of Things) and blockchain technology into its digital examination process for the first time in Telangana. (https://mrvv.edu.in/examinations/)
    • This initiative positions MRV as a forward-thinking institution that prioritizes security, transparency, and efficiency in academic evaluations.
    • It enhances security, transparency, and efficiency by preventing malpractice, ensuring secure data storage, and automating administrative processes.
  • All the examinations are conducted following the guidelines of the apex bodies concerned.
  • A Disciplinary Committee addresses any instances of academic misconduct, such as cheating or plagiarism, and enforces appropriate penalties to maintain academic integrity. (mrvv.edu.in/council-committees)
  • A Moderation Committee shall be constituted for each institution to review and ensure standardization and fairness in the examination results (mrvv.edu.in/council-committees)
  • A Grievance Redressal Committee is in place to handle students’ concerns related to examinations, ensuring fair and timely resolution of issues.
