Course Overview

The M.Sc. Human Genetics program at Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth, Hyderabad, is designed to provide specialized knowledge and advanced training in the field of genetics, focusing on the genetic basis of human health, diseases, and inheritance. This postgraduate program equips students with the skills needed to understand genetic disorders, genetic counseling, and cutting-edge techniques in genomic research.

This program focuses on equipping students with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills from 1st semester itself. The curriculum covers a range of topics including molecular genetics, gene mapping, genetic counseling, clinical genetics, bioinformatics, and personalized medicine. Students gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques such as DNA analysis, PCR, gene sequencing, and genetic screening, preparing them to address complex genetic issues in clinical and research settings.

Description: 2 Years Degree Program

No. of Credits: 80 minimum and as specified

The minimum eligibility is a B.Sc. degree in Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.

The M.Sc. Human Genetics curriculum provides advanced training in molecular genetics, genetic counseling, genomics, cytogenetics, and ethical aspects of genetics. This program prepares students for roles in hospitals, genetic counseling centers, research labs, and biotech companies.
